Fleas

Flea Facts

 

  • A flightless parasite able to jump long distances.
  • Know to transmit disease in animals.
  • Prefers to feed on animals but will feed on humans too.
  • Finds new host via body heat or breathing.
  • Lays eggs on Animal Fur.
  • Larva will find cracks/crevasses to hide while pupating.
  • They live in warm/humid areas (trees, shrubs, tall grass, etc.)

Post Flea Treatment

 

  • Remain out of treated home for 4 hours.
  • Ventilate home prior to reoccupying.
  • Vacuum lightly over next 14 days (Chemicals will remain active despite vacuuming).
  • Apply 1 teaspoon of flea powder to vacuum to kill fleas.
  • Discard vacuum bag outside after each cleaning.
  • Wash bedding in hot water.
  • Moderate & Severe Infestations may require treatment every 2 weeks until under control.
  • If yard is treated, keep lawn cut short.
